Situated on the edge of the Dordogne region, near the historic town of Ste Foy-la-Grande, Les Saules provides a great base for a family holiday exploring all that this area of France has to offer. Our beautiful old stone cottage, with large private heated swimming pool, sleeps up to 6 people. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and offers a great deal of space and comfort in peaceful surroundings.

If you are planning an active holiday there is plenty to do; canoeing along the River Dordogne, horse riding in the local village, golf at Château des Vigiers or cycling along the quiet country lanes. We are located close to St Emilion and Bergerac so if you have an interest in wine Les Saules is the perfect location for your holiday.

May – the annual Semi-Marathon road race runs between the villages of St Méard de Gurçon and Montazeau.

June – The Bordeaux Wine Festival takes place during June. You can purchase a tasting pass where you will be able to taste various Bordeaux wines or a vineyard pass giving full access to vineyards around Bordeaux.

Once a month, during July and August, St Méard de Gurçon holds a Marché Nocturne, night market, with various stalls, lots of food and drink, live music and dancing late into the night.

July – Ste Foy-la-Grande Felibrée. Fabulous weekend festival with floral street decorations, folk costumes, music, events etc. Usually held during the 1st weekend of the month.

Bastille Day – 14th July – The largest celebration in Dordogne is generally the fireworks display held in Bergerac.

August – Montpon holds its Féte Locale, a three-day festival.
